For 2019, the extrance exam date for IMU-CET is not yet disclosed but for 2018 batch, the exam date was 2nd June'18 .

Eligibility for B.Sc. In Nautical Science. As a minimum criterion of eligibility, the course requires the candidate to have attained the 10+2 qualification in the Science stream with Physics, Math and Chemistry as main subjects, and a minimum aggregate score of 60%.

Yes, if you make sure that you pursue it from a reputed government recognised institute. Usually, maritime studies institutes are approved and certified by Director General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping.

You can join the merchant navy from age 16 as an officer cadet or as an apprentice able seafarer (deck). You'll need at least 4 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English, maths and physics (or combined Science) or equivalent qualifications.
