If you belong to the General category under the AI quota, there is a possibility you can get admission to Gujarat University. During the Gujarat University NEET MDS cutoff 2025, the Round 1 closing ranks ranged between 29 and 369 for the General AI quota. So, considering the first-round cutoff, candidates with a cutoff rank of 70 can get admission to some of the MDS specialisations depending on the eligibility, seat availability, and other parameters.

The NEET MDS cutoff does not remain the same every year. The NEET MDS qualifying percentile generally remains fixed; the cutoff scores change every year.

No, the NEET MDS tie-breaking criteria have remained the same over the past few years. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has not made any changes in the NEET MDS tie-breaking criteria over the years, proving the efficacy of the system. The highest weightage is provided to the overall accuracy, followed by sectional accuracy and lastly, age criterion.

No, the NEET MDS application number does not impact the tie-breaking criteria or protocol. Hence, candidates filling the NEET MDS application form earlier or later does not matter in case multiple candidates score the same marks. There are a total of four factors which are considered for the NEET MDS tie-breaking protocol.

Yes, candidates' age can impact the NEET MDS rank as it is one of the factors of the tie-breaking criteria. The last and final NEET MDS tie-breaking factor says, "If all the other criteria fail, a candidate older in age will be placed higher on the merit list." Hence, candidates of older age holding the same score will be allotted a higher rank in NEET MDS.

In the NEET MDS merit list released by NBE on the day of the result, details of all candidates, including those who were absent, or did not score the pass marks, are mentioned on the merit list  On the other hand, in the All India Quota 50 per cent merit list, only those who have qualified for the exam by securing the cutoff marks are mentioned on the list. In short, these candidates are eligible to participate in the NEET MDS counselling.

Candidates will have to check or download the NEET MDS scorecard from the official website of the exam, which is the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). It is also popularly referred to as NBE. NBEMS or NBE is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The websites or the URLs from where the NEET MDS scorecard can be downloaded are as follows:

  • natboard.edu.in
  • nbe.edu.in

After visiting these websites, candidates have to click on the NEET MDS under the Examinations tab and further click on the login or the Results tab to download the scorecard by entering the registration credentials.

The NEET MDS scorecard or result will be valid for one academic year. For example, candidates who have qualified for NEET MDS 2025 can opt for admission only for the academic year 2025-26. Seeking admission for the next academic year through the NEET MDS will not be permitted. In case a candidate qualified for NEET MDS 2025, but did not complete admission process, or did not qualify for the exam, he or she will have to appear for the NEET MDS exam next year and qualify to complete the admission process.

The NEET MDS admit card has a barcode on the top. It is used for verification during the exam. The barcode has information entered during the registration. In case of a mismatch in the details, candidates may not be allowed entry to the exam centre.
