No, candidates need not register for each round of NEET MDS counselling separately. In case a candidate has registered in the first round, and wishes to participate in the further rounds, then they need not register afresh. They just need to log in and complete the rest of the procedures such as choice filling and locking. Candidates must also note that if they have taken admission based on the seat allotment result of a particular round, they will not be eligible to participate in the further rounds unless they surrender the seat.

Yes, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) states that it is necessary to report to the institute first and then opt for resignation. MCC states, "Candidates willing to upgrade from Round 1 to Round 2 have to report at the allotted institute/college with original documents of round 1 and complete the admission formalities. During the completion of admission formalities, if the candidate wishes to upgrade then he/she has to give willingness for upgradation in the college."

Yes, it is mandatory to carry the original documents at the institute reporting process of the NEET MDS counselling process. Although candidates can carry the photocopies as a backup, but during document verification, they will have to present the original documents. To be on the safer side, it is best to carry both original and photocopy of the necessary documents.

In some years, the NEET MDS cutoff percentile also changes based on external factors or as per the recommendation of the Ministry of Health. No, the NEET MDS tie-breaking criteria have remained the same over the past few years. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has not made any changes in the NEET MDS tie-breaking criteria over the years, proving the efficacy of the system. No, the NEET MDS application number does not impact the tie-breaking criteria or protocol. Hence, candidates filling the NEET MDS application form earlier or later does not matter in case multiple candidates score the same marks. There are a total of four factors which are considered for the NEET MDS tie-breaking protocol.

Yes, candidates' age can impact the NEET MDS rank as it is one of the factors of the tie-breaking criteria. The last and final NEET MDS tie-breaking factor says, "If all the other criteria fail, a candidate older in age will be placed higher on the merit list." Hence, candidates of older age holding the same score will be allotted a higher rank in NEET MDS.

In the NEET MDS merit list released by NBE on the day of the result, details of all candidates, including those who were absent, or did not score the pass marks, are mentioned on the merit list On the other hand, in the All India Quota 50 per cent merit list, only those who have qualified for the exam by securing the cutoff marks are mentioned on the list. In short, these candidates are eligible to participate in the NEET MDS counselling.
