There wasn't one, but two toppers in NEET 2023 exam. Both Prabhanjan J. from Tamil Nadu and Bora Varun Chakravarthi from Andhra Pradesh secured a perfect score of 720 out of 720, achieving an incredible 99.999901 percentile. They aced all sections of the exam – Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results in June 2023, and both of them secured the prestigious All India Rank (AIR) 1 position.

Once the seat allotment result of NEET SS counselling is declared, candidates have to check it online. They have to visit the MCC website and click on the link indicating the Round 1 or Round 2 or Mop-up Round result. A PDF file will open, wherein candidates have to find their NEET SS counselling allotted seats. The step by step process to check the NEET SS counselling result is given below:
- Visit the official website of NEET SS counselling – mcc.nic.in
- Click on the ‘Super Speciality’ tab
- Click on the link ‘Provisional SS Allotment Status’ or the 'Final Seat Allotment Result' under the Current Events section

A percentile refers to the comparison between the score of one candidate vis-a-vis the other test takers. It is the percentage of scores that a particular score surpassed. NTA has stated the formula to calculate the NEET percentile, which is given below:
100 multiplied by the Number of candidates with their raw score equal to/ less than the candidate divided by the Total number of candidates who appeared for NEET.
As per the NEET 2023 result data, the highest percentile obtained was 99.9999019.

The marking scheme for NEET has been stated by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is expected that the marking scheme will remain the same for the next year's NEET as well. Four marks is awarded for each correct answer and one mark is deducted for each wrong answer. The complete marking scheme is given in the table below.

Since the total number of questions in NEET question paper is 200, out of which 180 questions have to be attempted, the total marks of the exam is 720.

Since the NEET scorecards are released by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam conducting body, in an online mode, it can be accessed and downloaded anytime by the test-takers. Once the NEET result is declared, candidates will have to download the NEET scorecard by logging in with their registration credentials and take multiple printouts. They are also advised to save the NEET scorecard PDF softcopy in their computer systems or mobile phones for easy access. NTA releases the NEET result in two methods. The first one is the NEET scorecard, which candidates will have to download by logging in to the NEET website along with their registration credentials. On the other hand, NTA releases an official press release or document carrying all the information related to the NEET result such as the names of the top rankers upto 50, followed by the NEET result and testtakers statistics in terms of candidate category, states, exam languages, 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats, tie-breaking criteria and other information.

Yes, there can be more than one topper in NEET. Basically, any NEET taker, who has scored 720 or close to that, and has ranked between 1 and 10, are considered as NEET toppers. Since NEET is an objective-type multiple-choice question (MCQ) test, there is a possibility that more than one candidates can score full marks.
