The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has stated the following eligibility criteria for participating in the NEET SS 2024 counselling Round 2. 

  • Registered candidates who were not allotted seat in Round 1
  • Candidates who have reported/joined at allotted institute during the joining period of round-1 of allotment and submitted willingness for participating in second round up-gradation as 'Yes'.

After the declaration of the NEET SS counselling seat allotment result, candidates have the following choices:

  • Accept the seat allotted and exit from the counselling process
  • Accept the seat allotted, but choose to participate in the next round
  • Refuse the seat allotted, but choose to participate in the next round
  • Refuse the seat allotted and exit from the counselling process

All candidates selected through the counselling of NEET SS has to fill in any of the above options by logging into their registered accounts. If a candidate fails to choose any of the above options, their seat were forfeited and their admission wiill be cancelled.

Once the seat allotment result of NEET SS counselling is declared, candidates have to check it online. They have to visit the MCC website and click on the link indicating the Round 1 or Round 2 or Mop-up Round result. A PDF file will open, wherein candidates have to find their NEET SS counselling allotted seats. The step by step process to check the NEET SS counselling result is given below:

To complete the registration process for NEET SS counselling, candidates have to pay a non-refundable registration fee of INR 5,000 online. They will have to transfer a security deposit of INR 2,00,000. The security deposit will be adjusted against the academic fees for those who have been allotted a seat through the counselling of NEET SS. The amount will be refunded to the candidates who do not get the seat allotted to them or those who opt out of the counselling process refusing the seats allotted to them. The various modes of paying the NEET SS counselling registration fee are Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking and UPI.

The NEET SS counselling registration process is completely online. The step by step process to register for NEET SS counselling is given below:

  • Visit the official website of MCC – mcc.nic.in
  • Click on the Super Speciality Tab
  • Click on the New Registration tab under the Candidate Board Activity section
  • Enter the mandatory details such as NEET SS 2023 Roll Number, Password, Security Pin, and click on Register
  • Login again and complete the registration process by paying the registration fee

The NEET SS counselling is conducted in online mode, except for the last and final round of institute reporting. The registration and choice filling and locking rounds will have to be conducted in online mode. The seat allotment result will be released online and candidates will have to download the result PDF to check whether they have been allotted seats or not. While particpating in the NEET SS counselling process, candidates will have to get certain documents verified during the institute reporting process. The list of documents that must be produced during the final round of counselling are as follows:

  • NEET SS seat allotment letter
  • NEET SS Result/Scorecard
  • NEET SS Admit Card
  • MBBS Degree Certificate
  • MD/MS/DNB Degree Certificate
  • Permanent Registration Certificate for MBBS/MD/MS/DNB issued by NBE
  • Higher Secondary Certificate/Birth Certificate as proof of birth
  • A valid photo ID proof (PAN card/Driving License, Voter ID, Passport/Aadhaar Card)

There is no limit on the number of choices that a candidate can fill during the counselling of NEET SS counselling. These choices submitted and locked should be in the order of preference as desired by the candidate. It must be noted choices have to be locked in the given deadline otherwise it gets automatically locked. Candidates are advised to fill choices carefully as it can't be modified once its locked, or the deadline is over. Seats will be allotted based on choice declared by candidates and other factors.

In order to participate in the NEET SS counselling, candidates will have to appear and qualify for the exam by securing the NEET SS cutoff marks, which will be announced by NBE along with the result. Also, eligible candidates will have to register and fill the seat choices as per the seat matrix to be eligible for seat allocation. Last year, before the final round of NEET SS counselling, NBE had revised the eligibility criteria, wherein there was no cutoff marks applicable. There are approximately three to four rounds of counselling for the NEET SS exam. Last year, there were originally two rounds of NEET SS counselling and later, an additional round was announced since the NEET SS cutoff was revised. This year also, it can be expected that there will be three rounds of NEET SS counselling. Followed by this, there will be additional rounds, in case there is a change in the cutoff or seat matrix, the number of NEET SS counselling rounds will increase.
