Hi Heena,
NET is for the lifetime and you can give NET exam any number of times but if you wish to take NET JRF exam i.e. for fellowship then you can take it upto 32 year of age (for female candidates only), but for lectureship, you can give it any number of times.

Hi, To be a professor in India, firstly you have to have Masters in your subject, then give an exam of NET. After passing this exam, you can go for a PhD, then you can be a professor in any government or private college.

Hello,
As per the UGC Norms, to become a lecturer at the university or colleges one must have the post-graduation and NET qualification certificate. The UGC NET is conducted for the determination of the candidates for the assistant professor at the university and JRF awards in research. If you want to be a lecturer, you need to qualify the NET examination. Although you can apply for the teaching in the high school or Diploma colleges. Hello, There is no age limit criteria to apply for the UGC NET Exam. Any one at any age can appear in the UGC NET Exam. To apply for the JRF Scholarship you need to be not more than 30 years of age. (35 years for the female and Reserved candidates). The UGC NET Exam is mainly conducted for the candidates from all age limit. The candidates more than the above age limit can apply for the Lectureship Posts at different colleges and Universities of India. Hello, To become eligible for the UGC NET Exam, its essential to do post-graduation in any field with the percentage of 55 % marks (50% for Reserved category candidates). If you want to make career in the lectureship programme the UGC NET Exam is the best option. The percentage marks you scored in the post-graduation is valid if you apply for the improvement exam they generally consider the Final Score in Post-graduation. Hello Pramod,
The UGC NET and CSIR NET are two different exams, which are conducted for different exams. The candidates who have completed the post-graduation degree can make a career of assistant professor posts in universities or colleges, to pursue Ph.D. and for JRF Awards. The CSIR NET exam is conducted for the Science stream subjects that is physical Science, Chemical Science, mathematical Science, life Science, Earth Science. To apply for the post of Assistant Professor in any college or universities, you must have to clear UGC NET Exam. UGC NET is an exam through which you can get selected for the post of Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in any of the college or institute by appearing in interviews. The NET exam is organized by the National Testing Agency two times a year.
Before applying for NET ensure your eligibility for it.
