Yes, Indian students can work part-time in the Netherlands while studying, but there are a few things most students only learn after arriving there.

Legally, non-EU students (including Indians) are usually allowed to:

  • Work up to 16 hours per week during the academic year, or
  • Work full-time during June, July, and August

But the important part many YouTube videos forget to explain is this:

Your employer normally has to apply for a work permit (TWV) for you.

A lot of students assume they can immediately start working at cafés or stores, then later realise many employers avoid the paperwork because hiring EU students is simpler for them.
