National Institute of Fashion Technology Exam is conducted by the NIFT. This is a renowned institute which is providing a broad range of fashion technology courses in India.
The examination includes both written test (General Ability Test, Creative Ability Test and Managerial Ability Test) and personality test followed by group discussion and interview.
Thorough preparation is needed for exam. Online guides as well as paper back guides can help the students for getting an idea about the questions. Besides this they can also seek help from their friends. Time management is another important thing that students need to focus on. The students need to start preparing early so that they can achieve success in this examination.

Yes, there is a lot of difference in the syllabus as well as the courses.
Nift is for fashion designing and for other related fields purpose, Nata is solely for architecture.
For NIFT
You study current affairs, English, general maths and drawing abilities which includes designing poster or logo. Something which measures your designing aspects
There are 2 papers, one drawing paper another general ability test.
For NATA
You study architectural awareness, general maths (hardly 2-3 questions are expected), synonyms and antonyms and visualization. The drawing paper includes view, ant's eye view etc. Something which measures your skills in perspective.
There are 2 papers, one drawing paper and another 50 mins online awareness test.

Hiral, I am not sure which course you are looking at. Design is a field that is age old and has been evolving every year like science. Sometimes student Artists are too much enamoured by Fine Arts preventing them to look objectively at Design. They must read this http://bit.ly/SXc9GD. Again like science it pays to be at the cutting edge. For e.g. science students do better if they go for CS or IT since that are areas where development is taking place rapidly. Similarly in Design the cutting edge areas are UID/ UXD, 3D Printing, Immersive Technology, Augmented Reality, 3D Projection etc, besides of course Game Design and Animation. At this stage, you may want to understand the creative world and the careers it offers. There are many careers for the creative/ artistic people. Interiors, textile as well as Web Design rely on the same skills - your layout skills and color sense. Journalism also is at this level and relies on your language skills and knowledge of history and current affairs. A little higher perches Graphic Design, Fashion Design, jewellery design, Acting, and Fine Arts which rely on one of your artistic skills - sketching and imagination. At a similar level perches VFX as well as Motion Graphics which rely on one of your artistic skills - Cinematographic skills and imagination. Then come careers like Animation, Film Making, Game Design which rely on multiple talents like your authority over sketching, acting, direction, voice, sound, writing, storytelling and problem solving skills etc. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted. Do remember that digital design careers (e.g. web design, graphics, UI design, animation, vfx, multimedia) give better profits since they can be delivered anywhere in the world and hence may earn in dollars - resulting in better rewards for designers. In order to pursue B.Fashion Technology, the eligibility is as follows:
Academic Eligibility: All candidates must satisfy the required academic qualifications. In case Degree/certificate has been obtained from some University /Board of any other country then an equivalence certificate must be obtained from Association of Indian Universities (AIU) New Delhi (website: www.aiuweb.org) prior to admission.
The medium of instruction in NIFT is English and all aspirants applying to NIFT must posses working knowledge of English language.
Candidates applying for Bachelor Programmes of NIFT should arrange to send SAT-1 scores directly from College Board, USA, to NIFT. SAT-I scores have to be submitted through College Board to NIFT. The Designated Institution (DI) Code is 7258.
The Centre and Programme will be allotted to the candidates based on SAT- I/GMAT score as well as the preference of the candidate.
The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi with Physics, Chemistry and Math.

Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
or
A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
or
3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education (Engineering background).
