As per the official exam pattern released by NIFT, the question paper for GAT M.FTech will be of 180 minutes. The exam will be conducted in a LAN-based, CBT mode. The GAT paper will have 150 multiple-choice questions. These questions will be asked from - Communication Ability and Comprehension, Case Study, Quantitative Ability, Analytical & Logical Ability, and GK and Current Affairs. Also, the GAT paper will be bilingual, meaning the candidate can appear in the GAT paper either in English or Hindi language. The choice of language has to be made when filling out the NIFT 2025 online application form.

Candidates will be shortlisted for NIFT Situation Test on the basis of their performance in the CAT and GAT written exams. The Situation Test will evaluate material handling and innovative ability of the candidate. Some of the key parameters that will be evaluated include Space Visualization, Innovative and creative use of given material, the composition of elements, color scheme, construction skill, the finesse of the model and overall presentation, etc.

NIFT GAT paper for the M.Des programme include 120 multiple choice questions. The time given for GAT will be 120 minutes. The questions will be set in English and Hindi.

Questions will be asked from Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Analytical Ability, and GK and Current Affairs. It is important for the candidate to note that mock tests and sample papers have very different purposes. For instance, sample papers are meant to be used in conjunction with early exam preparation. Once can start solving sample papers in the very first week itself, usually after completing a topic a chapter. The sample papers will allow the candidate to improve their understanding of concepts and problem-solving skills. Time management is another skill one can develop by solving sample papers.

There is no specific time to start solving sample papers of NIFT. You can start solving sample paper

  1. Once you complete a topic, you can take a sample paper and start solving the related problems.
  2. This way, as you move on in the preparation, go on solving the related questions.
  3. It is recommended to solve at least a few sample papers so that you properly understand the problem and the procedure to solve it.
  4. By the time you complete the syllabus, you must be able to solve the complete sample paper.

To prepare for NIFT Entrance Exam 2024, you can follow the steps below: Understand the NIFT pattern and syllabus thoroughly. Make a monthly, weekly and daily time-table and stick to it. Collect high qualify and reliable study material to use as reference material for each subject. Attempt as many previous years' NIFT question papers as possible. Use a notebook when you are studying something, and jot down all the important or difficult points you come across. In the last few weeks leading up to the exam, take mock tests to mentally prepare for the exam and get a taste of the exam experience.
