The minimum age limit for NIOS 12th Admission is 15 years. A student has to complete 15 years to take admission in the Senior Secondary Course. Also he/she should have completed secondary course (10th Class) from a recognised board. Those who could not continue studies after passing 10th class can also apply for NIOS 12th. There is no maximum age limit to apply for admission to NIOS board. Those having long gap in the study after 10th, can also apply for NIOS 12th.

A learner must choose his/her Study Centre/AI very carefully. In case a learner wishes to change his/her Study Centre from one centre to another centre, they will have to apply online through E-Service. The learner have to upload valid reasons and documents. Also there is a fee of INR 400 for the same. Students have to pay via online.

NIOS admissions take place online through the official website of NIOS. A learner has three options. He/she can register online directly through the official website of NIOS. AC. In. Visit his/her the nearest AI (Study Centre)/Facilitation Centre and take help for online registration. Visit the concerned Regional Centre of NIOS and take help for online registration.

NIOS 12th public examinations are conducted twice in a year. One exam is held in March/April and other exam in Oct/Nov. Students can visit the official website at NIOS. AC. In. for more information. NIOS 12th theory exam 2026 will be held in April-May 2026.

Students have the option to choose subjects of their choice from the list given on NIOS website. The NIOS Class 10 subjects are divided into two. They are Group A and Group B. Students at the Secondary level need to take a minimum of 5 subjects, including at least one language, and no more than 2 languages. They can take a maximum of 7 subjects.

In case of loss of Identity Card, a duplicate Identity Card is issued by NIOS. For obtaining Duplicate Identity, the learner needs to lodge an FIR with the concerned police station. Then they should apply through the e-service portal of the website. They should also pay the required fee for the duplicate ID card. Students are advised to keep their ID cards safe.

The learners need to pay the required registration fee and the examination fee. NIOS Theory Exams fee is INR 250 per subject. Students have to pay INR 120 per subject for NIOS Practical exams. Additional INR 50/- will be charged for each transaction. Students have to visit the official website for registration. A learner registering under Stream-2, Stream-3, Stream-4 and desirous to take different subjects or additional subject from parent boards, will have to pay INR 720/- per subject in addition to Admission/Registration Fee, Examination Fee and TOC fee.

The NIOS offers a choice in the medium of studies at the secondary level in English Hindi Urdu, Marathi, Odia, Telugu, Gujarati, Tamil, Malayalam and Punjabi medium. Students can choose accordingly at the secondary level. The learner is free to choose any one of these mediums for studies. At Class 12 level, the course is offered only Hindi English Urdu mediums. The learner is free to choose any one of these mediums for studies.

The NIOS will release the date sheet for theory and practical exam April session 2025 in March 2025. NIOS date sheet 2025 will be released on the official website, sdmis.nios.ac.in. NIOS 10th practical exam 2025 will be held in March 2025.
