It depends on the cutoff so you need to check the cutoff of JEE entrance exam.

No, his score is not enough for NITs. He can retry next time or he can try for other colleges.

You need to score 140+ in JEE Mains to get good branch at reputed NITs. Weightage of board marks depends on normalisation factor.

NITs take admission based on JEE Mains Score along with Board Percentage. There is no separate or direct examination for admission into NIT.

yes you are eligible because cut off of obc is 70 this year and you have scored 90 so you do have a better chance

Hi Gaurav. I would most definitely recommend you to prepare for exam of private universities. You have Bits, indraprastha university, Vellore, Manipal, srm and such good colleges that don't consider JEE score but take their own respective entrance tests. These colleges have best teaching faculties as well. I would not recommend dropping a year. You may have to explain your decision of dropping at the time of placements and also at the time of interview if you decide to go for higher education especially MBA. Instead prepare for the private university tests. All the best!
