Admissions are on the basis of your JEE main's All India Rank. To check wether u are eligible, u can use a JEE main rank predictor and then check opening and closing ranks of recent CSAB counselling at http://csab.nic.in/ChoiceFilling/Result/ORCR_AllRounds.aspx

Sarvesh you can't enter NIT based on Diploma, though you can go for IIT so you have to clear JEE Main first but your score card won't be released , only you will be intimated that whether you have qualified for JEE Advance or not and if you get into IIT then your scorecard will be released

Hi,
Considering your low percentage in boards you hardly have a chance to get into top NIT's CSE. Yet, if you have a 270+ score in JEE Mains you might have a chance to get CSE in home state. All the best!

Keerthi, it's on the basis of both. But then there are a particular no.of seats for a particular category.
These days, your JEE score can get you a seat in some of the best private universities. Some of these also offer scholarships on basis of your JEE scores as well as 12th marks.
Good luck.

You should apply for NITs and it is a good chance to get NITs with this score of your for preference.
