If you are getting admission in ICE in NITJ just go for it, man.
First of all, it is one the rarest branches present in the country with lots of work and scope in the industry.
Only 20k students appear for the GATE so you can get a PSU very easily. (Topper of ICE Gate 2018 is from NITJ along with 11 other candidates in Top 100 from NITJ).
Most importantly, PSUs like BPCL HPCL GAIL hire ICE candidates directly from the campus through campus interviews and without GATE score.
So, I will recommend you just for ICE in NITJ.

The IT branch was closed after the 2014 batch and MHRD is planning to start in again in NITJ from this year or next year. You can search for 2014 data and get an idea about the cutoffs. Hope it will help you.

IPE is one of the oldest branches of NITJ and the faculty there is highly qualified and experienced. As per the placements stats, I can say it totally depends on you because lots of companies visit our campus and there is an ample amount of opportunities for you. Companies like Whirlpool, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Honda and other big giant companies allow IPE students to participate in placements with mechanical students.

Internships are something that totally depends on your skills and interest. If you have an interest in something like web development there is a lot of opportunities available and you can get an intern very easily. Just contribute something to the technology by making a project. As per the college stats, there are companies like Amazon, Samsung, Wipro and Adobe that visit our campus and hire students as interns and also offer a PPO if they work well there. Also, the NIT has started its own internship programs that will give you a exposure and you can get an opportunity to work under highly qualified faculty members on new technologies.

First of all its an MHRD institute so there is a different environment about studies. The faculty is well-qualified and have worked in their respective fields for years. So, their experiences help the students to work on the new technologies. There are a plethora of opportunities available for the students. And the environment is competitive as all the students have come here after qualifying a national level exam JEE-Mains. You will get a brand of NIT and called a NITian after passing out.

There is a relaxation for SC candidates in the fees. You don't have to pay tuition fees which constitute the major part of the fees.
