That totally depends on the pattern and difficulty of the paper and also the number of students applying for JEE. Percentile is calculated wrt to the number of students getting marks below the respective person whom percentile is being calculated. If the students will vary they percentile may also vary. Obviously, NITs are at first priority, but not all NITs are good. NIT Trichy, Warangel, Rourkela are the best then BIT Mesra, University of Pune are in the list. Good luck.

NIT is National Institute Of Technology is well known institutions after IITs & IISERs. NIT provides various professional as well as non - technical courses like basic & natural science. Some private colleges are not as popular as NITs. NITs have quality education.The basic difference is quality education, placement, etc.

NIT Jalandhar isn't really a great option since it is not that reputed as compared to the top 30-40 colleges in India. Avoid it and aim for the much better ones.
