The GATE cut off is depends upon various factors as listed below and varies yearly and institute wise. The following factors will be considered during the preparation process of GATE cutoff for IITs and NITs:
1. Number of applicants for the specific course
2. Previous years cutoff trend
3. Difficulty level of the examination
4. Number of seats available for the course
Further the GATE score above 600 is good enough for getting admission in NITs, and IITs. In ECE branch.

for qualifying exam, there is an option
*National Institute of Open Schooling conducted Senior Secondary School Examination with a minimum of 5 subjects.*
The 5 subjects for B.Tech/ B.E. are:
1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics, 4-Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject), 5-Any other subject

Just after class 12th (science), you will be eligible to take JEE Mains & Advanced after clearing these test, you can join BE/B.Tech.
