Hello Bhavya,
NITs offer better salary packages than most of the engineering colleges in India.
The package depends more on the reputation of the company and the knowledge of the candidate.
The average package ranges from 6-10 lakhs per annum for an NIT.

For studying any course or providing heaps of opportunity in other activities, NIT Trichy is the best.
I think, in any NIT, you will get no. of opportunities to show your extra skills. By the way NIT Trichy, VNIT, NIT Surathkal, SVNIT, NIT Rourkela are good for mechanical. Try your best for IITs though.

Hello,
To clear the exam, there are particular cut off marks that vary every year. But to get a good and a top NIT, your marks should be at least above 250 so that you won't miss out the chances whatever be the cut off.

All branches have equal scope in IITs and NITs but I would say ECE branch has wide scope in public, private and government sectors. Many of my friends from ECE got placed in ONGC, GAIL and even in IT sectors as analysts.
