Check out the JEE Mains 2018 Eligibility Criteria to clear every single doubt coming in your mind.
According to this, the candidates who have scored at least 75% marks in the 12th class are only eligible for appearing in the JEE Mains exam.
So, if you can't appear in the JEE Mains exam, then you can can't get admission in any of the NITs or IITs.
If you haven't scored 75% in 12th, then you can go for the improvement exam or the NIOS exam.
Hope this will help.
All the best.

Almost half the number of seats available in a particular NIT are reserved for the home state students. But the sad part is that those seats too are filled according to the reservation policy of the Government of India. But the cut-off ranks for the home state quota seats usually remain lower than the other state quota seats for some NIT, but not all.

Hello Aniket,
Yes there are reservations based on your caste / category. The general category is unreserved while you have reservations for BC, OBC NCL, SC, ST, etc.

Hello Vaibhav,
NITs don't offer aerospace /aeronautical engineering course. Only a few IITs offer aerospace engineering. For that you need to clear JEE Advanced with a good rank.

Hello Aditya,
The basic eligibility in board exams is to have at least 75 % if you belong to general category (OC). If you belong to the other categories like SC, ST and PWD then, you need to have a minimum of 65%.
Only then you can seek admission into any college under JEE.
