In 2016, opening rank was 4605 and closing rank around was 11151. Score should be more than 220.

The admission into NITs is based on your ranks in JEE main examination. As you belong To SC category, your category rank should be below 500, so that you can get a seat at the top NITs in CSE.
You have to score 150+, so that you can easily get a seat at the top NITs.

The admission into any of NITs is based on your AIR or category rank in JEE Mains exam.
So if you mention your rank then I may tell your possibilities.

Sorry to inform you, but admissions are not possible in IITs without securing a rank in JEE Advanced and JEE Mains for NITs respectively. JEE Mains and Advanced are excepted only in case for foreign nationals/NRIs which need to submit their SAT/GRE score for UG/PG course respectively. Hope this answers your questions.

The cut-off marks vary from category to category every year. This time it was just 32 for SC but the last time it was higher. So, you need to aim of scoring more than 150+ to get a good NIT as per your caste.
