NITs would be better than private universities, but not all. Try for top 15 NITs for CSE, if not then go for SASTRA University. You can also try for VIT SRM and LPU.

Hi, just check the site http://josaa.nic.in/webinfocms/public/view.aspx?page=46 to know the opening and closing ranks of NIT's through which you can have a clear idea I think you will be getting new NIT only if you belong to OBC, SC or ST. Good luck !!

Hey,
For getting admission to NIT, you should have a 12 maths background and 12 you should pass with 65% and your JEE score should be more than 60-70% for a good nit after you qualify for her mains then you will be JEE Advanced to get into IITs.

CS is the best option as it provides good placement opportunities but ECE is a good option as because in NIT there are good opportunities and increment level in electronics is better in comparison to computer students.
