Hello Vishal,
To get admission in any of the NIT, you need to score a minimum of 75% in your 12th. If you have scored only 58%, I am afraid you are not eligible.
Best wishes!

Hello Jay,
Unfortunately, such assessment has not been done by anyone and hence Institutions can not be compared. However, I feel any NIT would be better than other colleges.

Hello Vandana,
Your sister has scored more than minimum required in 12th. Even though her score is not very good, still I feel she has some chance of getting admission in any one of the NITs.

Hello Aditya,
These days students of your category have started doing better. But I still feel that you have a reasonable chance of getting admission in any one of the NITs.

For getting into a decent NIT, you need to score at-least 200 in JEE. Also, don't worry about your board percentage as from this year onwards, AIR will not depend upon board percentage. However, you may not be eligible for JEE Advanced as min. 75% in boards is required for that.
I hope this helps. :)

Hi Sreehari,
If you want to study science, then you should go to IISERs or NISER. If your goal is to get a degree, a job or to go for MBA (in IIMs) after that, then NITs are better for you.

Generally, placements of NITs are good and better in comparison to majority of private and state government colleges. Some of the NITs like Suratakal have campus placement for CASE grads equivalent to IITs.

With 156 marks I am afraid that Suratkal appears to be out of your zone. However, you perhaps still have chances of admission in one of the new NITs.

Hello Manik,
For getting admission in NIT, you need to score at least 75% in your boards. And of course you need to score well in JEE Mains. If only you get good score, you can expect good NIT.
