The North Orissa University (NOU) is a Tier 3 university.

Tier 3 universities are still good schools, but they are less competitive for admissions. Tier 3 universities in India are known for their modern facilities, experienced faculty, and advanced curriculum. These facilities help students gain a comprehensive understanding of their subjects.Tier 3 universities are known for being humble and hardworking.

North Orissa University was established in 1998 by the Government of Odisha. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

North Orissa University is one of the good Universities in their locality. The teaching is also somewhat good, and the campus life is good. The crowd life is also good, but some said their employees are not co-ordinating with students. They are delayed to do work, but the facilities are good overall. It is a good college.

The average salary for B.Sc (Hons) Computer Science graduates from North Orissa University typically ranges between INR 3 to 5 LPA (Lakhs Per Annum). However, this can vary depending on factors such as the student's skills, internship experience, and the company they get placed in. Some top companies may offer higher packages, especially for students with strong technical skills and a good academic record.

If you are looking to enhance your placement prospects, consider working on projects, internships, or certifications in relevant areas like programming, data structures, or software development. Best of luck!

The cutoff marks for M.Sc. in Microbiology at North Orissa University (NOU) typically depend on the number of applicants, their academic performance, and the available seats for the program. While the exact cutoff can vary each year, here's a general idea:

  • General Category: The cutoff is usually around 50% to 55% in the qualifying undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) with relevant subjects like Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences.
  • Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC): There might be some relaxation in the cutoff for candidates from these categories, typically around 5% to 10% less than the general category.

Both North Orissa University (NOU) and Fakir Mohan University (FMU) offer solid M.Sc. in Biotechnology programs, but there are some differences.

FMU has a stronger reputation, especially in research and development. It offers better faculty, research facilities, and industry connections, which can lead to better placement opportunities in biotech companies and research labs.

On the other hand, NOU also provides a good education in Biotechnology, but its industry ties and resources might not be as extensive as FMU's.
