Evening classes are better but if you can not attend them or have some set ways or targets like GATE or going for some coaching which prepares you for placements or work for earning then online degree is a good option.

Hello Piyush, it's very heartening to know that you still have the spark to study even after 25 years of work experience. But I am afraid that these days no professional course including engineering can be offered online buy any university in India and as a result you cannot think of doing graduation in chemical engineering by distance education mode. However you can do AMIE which is equivalent to graduation in engineering for all practical purposes. Best wishes to you.

AICTE has banned the online or distance B.Tech courses, Hence never be pursue. Because online or distance B.Tech courses are not valid for employment and higher education purpose.

The Qualification For B.Tech is to Pass in 10+2, or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subjects as optional with a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional
