For Oxford University admissions, the selection criteria specified below are followed:

Undergraduate Admissions

• Applications are evaluated by the University of Oxford’s tutors using the selection criteria for each course
• The academic tutors look for the academic ability and potential of students. They look for students with a deep interest in the subject to which they are applying
• At Oxford, extra-curricular activities are not considered at the time of evaluation of the application, unless they are relevant to the course to which an applicant is applying and help to demonstrate the selection criteria for the selected course

Graduate Admissions

• Oxford University graduate application is academically evaluated against the entry requirements for the course. The applications are relatively assessed in terms of the quality of previous academic excellence and future potential in comparison with the applications received from other applicants for that particular course
• The University of Oxford seeks to admit the very best applicants. Note that meeting the entry requirements may not be enough to guarantee a place and competition for places is very strong
• The University of Oxford departments receive many more excellent applications than they have places available, so it is crucial to take care of the application in order to showcase academic achievement and future potential

MSc Advanced in Computer Science course of the University of Oxford was earlier known as the MSc in Computer Science. Oxford University requirements for admission to MSc in Advanced Computer Science are given below:

Academic Requirement: A first-class undergraduate degree with honors in Computer Science or Mathematics is required. In other words, the applicants must either of the below-given eligibility:

• A professional bachelor’s degree (4-years) from a recognised institution with an overall grade of 65% for degrees granted by prestigious institutes (Example: Institutions of National Importance), or 75% for degrees awarded by other institutes; or 3.5 out of 4.0; 5.5 out of 7.0; 6.5 out of 8.0 or 8.5 out of 10.0
• A standard bachelor’s degree (3 years) from a recognised institute with an overall grade of 70% for degrees awarded by prestigious institutes (Example: Institutions of National Importance), or 75% for degrees awarded by other institutes
• No GMAT / GRE scores
• Three references
• CV / resume
• English language proficiency: IELTS with 7.5 as a minimum score / TOEFL iBT with 110 as a minimum score
• Also, it is crucial to have the necessary background to cope with Mathematical notation and basic skills in Computer Programming

The Oxford Brookes application process may take a few days, weeks, or even longer. The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) is the system through which students select and apply for almost all full-time undergraduate courses in the UK. When your application is accepted, you will receive a response in UCAS Hub. Here students can check the progress of their UCAS application. These responses include:

·      An unconditional offer: get a guaranteed place

·      A conditional offer: student’s place will depend on obtaining specific grades or a successful interview

·      An unsuccessful decision: yet to be offered a place on the course

Note: If students receive no offers, then they can still apply to university through UCAS Extra from February until early July.
