The online application for JEE Mains starts from September 2019 and the exams are held in the month of January and April twice. Upon eligibility you can apply for JEE Advanced, and if you get a good rank in JEE Advanced you can get admission in the eligible IITs.

Both the fields have a great scope.
But, I would like to advise you to go for microbiology because there are a lot of research and experiments going on various biological elements which are yet to be discovered. You can also go for research.
