SVKMs NMIMS Mumbai via Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy & Technology Management offers a wide range of UG courses in the field of Pharmacy. The duration of BPharm is four years. It also offers lateral entry to the BPharm programme. Admissions are currently open for both BPharm and BPharm lateral entry. There's barely any difference in the first two years of these two courses. But eventually Pharmaceutical Science will branch out into chemical synthesis focused departments whereas medical Science deals with anatomy and immunology. However, to be a good physician or a pharmacist, one needs to have knowledge which overlaps tremendously in both domains.
Earlier in history there want much difference between these two and they were barely considered separate branches. But presently, a physician's focus is the surgery, a pharmacist does not delve into the surgical aspect of the body.
