Pilot is an excellent career option. There is a general shortage of trained and experienced pilots worldwide. Most of the requirement is in Asia Pacific region. Commercial pilots are paid one of the best salaries in India with other perks.
Following are two options to become pilot in India
(a) Commercial Pilot: You can become a commercial pilot by joining pilot (flying) training schools. Following are the basic eligibility criteria to become Commercial Pilot:
a. You should have completed the 10+2 years of education with physics, chemistry, maths as your major subjects
b. You must have scored 50 percent of marks in above-mentioned education
(b) Flying Pilot in Indian Air Force. You can join the Indian Air Force flying branch by appearing in NDA after class 12th board exam or CDS after completing UG in science.

You must be a 12th PCM student with minimum 50%. Being a pilot requires a lot of specialised technical training at various levels. In brief, the first level is that of a Student Pilot License (SPL), which allows the student to learn. After getting some training the student is provided with a Private Pilot License (PPL), which allows him to captain an aircraft without passengers. After gaining some training and experience he has to qualify for the Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), which allows him to captain an aircraft with passengers. DGCA (Central Examination Organisation) conducts written examination for issue of licenses to Pilots and Engineers. DGCA issues the following flight crew licenses under the provisions of Rule 38 and Schedule II of the Aircraft Rules, 1937.
(a) Pilot
(b )Flight Instructor or Assistant Flight Instructor
(c) Flight Navigator
(d) Flight Engineer
(e) Flight Radio Telephone Operator
There are three types of Pilots license Student Pilot Licence (SPL), Private Pilot Licence (PPL), and Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL).
CPL Eligibility:
(a) Class XII under the 10+2 system or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in Mathematics and Physics.
(b) Minimum 16 years of age to be eligible for a Private Pilot License and 17 for a Commercial Pilot License.
(c) Vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.
(d) General physical fitness as approved by DGCA is mandatory.
You can become Commercial Pilot by joining Pilot(Flying) trainings schools and obtaining CPL license.
