Hi,
For undergraduate courses, Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. They should have obtained minimum of 60% aggregate marks. For postgraduate courses, Candidates interested in pursuing an ME/MTech degree in Production Engineering should have completed their bachelors in a related discipline. They should have secured minimum of 50% aggregate marks. For diploma courses, candidates should have completed Class 10 from a recognised board and They should have obtained minimum of 60 percent aggregate marks.

Yes, your son can seek admission in production engineering directly in 2nd year via lateral entry mode. I would, however advise you to download information brochure from the website of DTE Maharashtra for knowing in detail other requirements.
