The NET exam does not accept candidates who have finished their PGDCA programme from PRSU or any other institution. Before applying for the National Eligibility Test (NET) candidates need to hold a master's degree in M.Sc., MA and M.Com and equivalent fields and achieve at least 55% marks with 50% being the minimum for candidates from reserved categories. The Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) functions as a Diploma whereas it does not fulfill the criteria for holding a master's degree. To take the NET examination candidates need to hold MCA or equivalent degree in any field of study.

Admission to UG BSc course at Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU) is merit based requiring a minimum of 45% in class 12th or equivalent with and the university accepts CBSE and CGBSE 12th exams.
