It is unlikely that you would get admission to PEC Chandigarh with an 85 percentile in JEE Main. According to the previous year's cutoff, the last rank admitted to PEC Chandigarh was around 173,573 for the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering course. With an 85 percentile, your JEE Main rank would likely be around 150,000, which is significantly higher than the cutoff. The cutoff for PEC Chandigarh varies each year based on factors like the number of seats available, difficulty level of the exam, and the number of candidates appearing. So your chances may improve if the cutoff is lower in the year you apply.

PEC has Branch-wise Merit Scholarships that depend on the academic performance in the form of CGPA of the previous year. The threshold of ≥ 8.5 makes sure that the recipients will exhibit steady academic performance in the field that they are pursuing. This requirement will motivate the students to work to high academic standards during their PEC education.
