Yes, NLU Ranchi offers one-year LLM programme. Candidates who have passed LLB/ five-year integrated BA LLB/ any other equivalent exam with minimum of 55% aggregate can apply for NLU Ranchi LLM course. The selection for LLM course is based on CLAT exam. Once the entrance exam is completed, the selected aspirants are called for CLAT Counselling.

As per last three-year cutoff for BA LLB (Hons) for General Category Home State Quota, the cutoff saw a fluctuating trend. The closing rank in 2022 was 3726 decreasing to 4339 in 2023. In 2024, the cutoff was again improved at 4257.
For LLM, the cutoff was 2213 in 2022 moving downwards to 4031 in 2023 and then finally 3587 in 2024. Looking at the cutoff data, aspirants with state domicile have a chance of getting admission with 3000 rank in CLAT.

The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) is indeed one of the prominent law schools in Ranchi, offering BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes. The university has subsequently been recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC). According to media reports, the the highest package offered during NLU Ranchi placements 2023 stood at INR 16 LPA.

The seat intake is the accepting capcity for a particular course. Out of the total seats, 50% of them are reserved for students from Jharkhand and remaining 50% for students from other states. Below is course-wise NLU Ranchi seat intake:

NLU Ranchi offers admission to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM courses based on CLAT cutoff. The All India closing ranks for NLU Ranchi for the BA LLB (Hons) was 1594 in 2024 for the General category under the Vertical Reservation.
NUSRL usually releases a total of five rounds of counselling. For the LLM in Intellectual Property Rights course the All India closing ranks for NLU Ranchi was 1623 in 2024 for the General category All India candidates.

The registered candidates are required to appear for CLAT entrance exam for admission to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM courses. Further, candidates willing to get admission, have to go through the CLAT Counselling process for acceptance of seats. Aspirants who will accept the allotted seat need to upload all the required documents on the official portal. Once done, candidates need to pay the admission fee to confirm their seats within a stipulated deadline.

NLU Ranchi provides Merit Scholarship to students with good academic record. Below is the criteria that students must meet to apply for the scholarship:
- The students should be enrolled as an UG student of the university
- His or her cumulative CGPA of all the previous semesters should not be less than six
- Merit scholarship is awarded based on the higher secured CGPA of the previous
year - If a candidate is availing any other scholarship/ financial aid greater than or equal to INR 50,000, he/she is not eligible for Merit Scholarship
