Yes, There is a big scope of robotics in India and IITs and NITs are major booster of robotics. Also the local government supports the robotic industry by providing funds and investments. But there is no robotics in undergraduate level.

B.Tech in robotics and automation engineering is sub branch of mechanical engineering at WPU. That means you will be studying same syllabus for 3 years as that of mechanical engineering students.The is course is new and not much is known about its faculty as it was intiated from last year. With your JEE score you have a fair chance in getting admitted in this course. So if you want to study automation and robotics you should apply for this course.
(P.S: Applications are highest for this course after cse , at least from my experience from last year.)

Hi,
SDMCET doesn't offers Course in Robotics , however SDMCET offers course of Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering, you can learn robotics by doing some courses side by side while doing BE in ECE. Hope you got your answer.

I don't know why did you choose civil, if you want to take robotics? Robotics is quite based on CS and programming, I advise you only with civil to choose your career to robotics.
