To avail the international students scholarships at Ruhr-University Bochum, students can apply from the third semester onwards. They must be enrolled in the regular course of this university. If students do not receive BAfog, then the scholarship amount is EUR 400 per month, but you receive BAFof at the same time, then the scholarship amount is EUR 300 per month. Documents that have to be submitted are CV, letter of motivation, academic transcripts, bank statements, residence permits, etc.

Yes, the DAAD Prize for international students can be availed by international students at Ruhr-Bochum University. The mount of this scholarship is Euros 1,000 (Around INR 1 lakh). To get this scholarship, students must not be a citizen of Germany and be either in the 3rd semester of the Bachelor's degree or in the 2nd semester of the Master's degree, show social commitment. A few of the documents required to apply are: 

  • Student's residence permit
  • CV
  • Certificate of enrollment
  • Transcript of records
  • Students' commitment to the society proof
  • LOR for the proposed person

Also, this university is internationally known for its research strengths Cyber Security and Solvation Science. Ruhr University Bochum is very selective with an acceptance rate of around 40%. So, students must aim to have a good academic background. For admission to this university's UG courses, the applicants should have completed school education. Whereas, for admission to PG courses, the applicants should at least have a Bachelor's degree. Also, they must submit the documents required such as transcripts, English or German language proficiency score, passport, APS certificate, etc.

Almost all the Bachelor's courses at RUB and a few Master's courses are taught in German at RUB. More than 20 Master's courses are taught in English. German language proficiency scores accepted by RUB are: 

  • TestDAF with at least 16 points
  • DSH (Level 2 or 3)
  • KDS or GDS from Goethe-Institut
  • OSD Language Certificate C1
  • telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule
