Yes, the Technical University of Munich accepts JEE Advanced scores to bypass a foundational year. It allows Indian students to apply directly for the UG courses without completing a Studienkolleg.
Look at other admission requirements for TUM -
- The standard 12th-grade CBSE board certifications are not equivalent to the German Abitur, so if you qualify for the JEE Advanced, it helps you fulfill the direct university entrance qualification.
- The competitive JEE rank is to be in the top 7000 to 10,000 ranks
- Language proficiency
- An APS Certificate

Yes, it is hard to get into TUM in Germany because there is intense competition. For very few seats, many outstanding candidates apply, resulting in the Technical University of Munich acceptance rate of around 8 to 10%.
Indian students would require a rigorous academic background with an impeccable credit equivalency and an aptitude assessment.
It may be a difficult task to do all of it by yourselves, which is why Shiksha Toppers' services exist. The expert counselors help you pick the best university, courses and scholarships based on your profile, with at least one guaranteed offer from a top university.

The University of Applied Sciences offers courses which are heavily practice-oriented, application-focused and industry-integrated. The reason is its practical style of teaching. It helps students to tackle the actual workplace issues.
But traditional universities like TUM and LMU prioritize theoretical research and academic pathways.

Both TCD Ireland and TUM are world-class options for an MSc in Computer Science. However, they both serve different career goals.
TCD is better for students who are:
- prioritizing a shorter 1-year program
- faster-route to the English-speaking job market
- looking to work in the "Silicon Valley of Europe" as Dublin is home to top tech companies like Google, Meta, and Microsoft
TUM is better for students interested in:
- Lower tuition costs
- Globally renowned Engineering and CS programme on the resume
- Wish to work in Germany's engineering and tech ecosystem

For Indian students to be considered at the Technical University of Munich for its STEM and specialised master's programs, the coursework should match very closely with the total overall degree credits and subject-specific requirements.
Look at the given overall degree requirements -
- A three-year degree is usually assessed as equivalent to 180 ECTS and this makes students eligible for the TUM master's programs which require 180 ECTS credits
- One ECTS credit equals to about 25 to 30 hours of total student workload. Indian credits are generally converted based on this workload.

At TUM, a credit mismatch is the number 1 reason for rejections. And if your application does not include the core subjects like Math or Stats for TUM, your application will likely be rejected.
The German universities like TUM evaluate applications based on the subject specific competences using ECTS and not the CGPA or the total credit hours.

Both the Universities are ranked well globally. As per Shiksha's Popularity ranking University of Bonn is ranked #110 and the Technical University of Munich is ranked at #89 all over the world. If the students are looking for an affordable University with great core-curriculum, University of Bonn is a good option as there are no tuition fees for the courses but if the students are looking for a variety of specializations to choose from then Technical University of Berlin would be a better option as it offers 13 different specializations for B.Tech courses but also charge the tuition fee for some of them.
