It is a very interesting question, indeed. See, for marketing you have two large aspects. One is selling the product and the other is the customer. The customer buys a product as per his/her needs. So, any company that is marketing a product takes care of those customer needs so that they can sell their products. There is no harm in doing a job along with MBA. But in my view, the best is if you do a job for 1-2 years and then go for MBA as it will make more sense as then you will have the basic understanding of market and corporate culture.
