Both TCD Ireland and TUM are world-class options for an MSc in Computer Science. However, they both serve different career goals.

TCD is better for students who are:

  • prioritizing a shorter 1-year program
  • faster-route to the English-speaking job market
  • looking to work in the "Silicon Valley of Europe" as Dublin is home to top tech companies like Google, Meta, and Microsoft

TUM is better for students interested in:

  • Lower tuition costs
  • Globally renowned Engineering and CS programme on the resume
  • Wish to work in Germany's engineering and tech ecosystem

Cal State East Bay is a solid option for Indian students interested in an MS in Computer Science. It is highly accessible, affordable (INR 20.3 Lakhs for the first-year), and maintains a nice curriculum that aligns with industry demands.

  • Employers in Silicon Valley and San Francisco respect a CS degree from Cal State as per student reviews on public forums
  • The programme also comes with the option of a Master's thesis or Capstone project
  • Oracle, Tesla, Apple, Google, Meta, and AWS are some top companies that hire MS in CS grads of Cal State University, East Bay

No, Queensland University of Technology does not prioritize the subject-specific marks over the overall scores.

QUT actually evaluates international applicants based on their overall academic average. Look at the key admission criteria for Indian students -

  • For UG courses, QUT looks at the overall score which should be around 60% to 75%
  • For PG courses like a Master of IT or Data Science, students need a minimum GPA of 4.0 on a 7.0 scale (around 60% on the Indian scale)
