Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences institution is a government-funded institution founded in December 2010 by the Kerala government. The university provides veterinary and animal sciences teaching, research, and extension services. The university is a public institution, not a private one. It came into existence on 14th June, 2010 as per Ordinance No. 44/2010 and later Act 3/2011 of the Government of Kerala.

This college accepts CUET (Common University Entrance Test) which was earlier known as Central Universities Common Entrance Test.
