Before taking any decision regarding the choice of branches, Briefly study the core subjects of all the branches, discover which subjects interest you. IT is very important to pursue a branch of your liking- you have to study it for 4 years and apply it's concepts in real life. Read about the branches and find out what you like.

BSc ( of 3 years duration) graduates are not eligible to appear for GATE to seek admission in MTech. BSc graduates are eligible to appear for JAM (Joint Admission Test for MSc) to seek admission in IITs.

See, EP is a branch intended for those students with an inclination for physics and who plan to pursue it further by going for higher studies. B.Tech in EP has no value when it comes to core job opportunities right after college because there aren't any core jobs for EP undergraduates.
Among all IIT's, IITD is best for electrical engineering. They have the best faculty who have published some really good books in their subject which are now standardized for that course. After B.Sc, you may pursue M.SC in microbiology or M.SC in biomedical which has great market value. Life science students are employed in the research companies or government colleges.

If you want to do diploma instead of 11th class then this will be of 3 years. After completing the diploma, you can go for lateral entry in b.tech with which relaxation of one year will be given to you and the admission will take place in 2nd year of B.Tech.
