Seven Islands Maritime Training Institute offers merit-based admission to all its courses. Further for admission to the DNS (Diploma in Nautical Sciences) certificate course, candidates are required to apply and appear in the IMU CET exam for admission.  Additionaly, candidates are required to complete the basic eligibility criteria to get admission to any courses. Applicants are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria and apply online on the official website. The final seat allotment is based on the last qualifying mark score. The college offers direct admission based on the last qualifying marks scores.
