Even auditors can also practice on their own as private auditors by starting their own auditing firm and they also work as freelance auditors.

Definitely, it is not you alone but almost all the students who are planning to appear for CPT exam and are going to get roughly 3 months for preparation. Let me tell you this, 3 months are more than sufficient. There are certain tips that I would like to give you here:
1. Pay attention to all subjects as you know it is compulsory to pass in all topics, so you cannot skip out on maths, economics or any of the topics.
2. Attempt a lot of scanners or previous year papers. This will help you understand how to time yourself and also it will indicate to you what chapters you need to focus on.
3. Since you are already through with TS in accounts and Sandeep Garg, you have the knowledge of around 80% of the syllabus in both accounts and economics, therefore you will have time to focus on law specially mercantile law, which is a new subject for you. So manage your schedule accordingly.
It will not be very difficult to clear this exam and if you put in a hard work you can pass with flying colours. It's always beneficial to enter the course with good marks as it boosts your confidence.

Tips to crack CS in 1 year:
1.Create a plan which can be successfully executed. Give more time to topics which you find difficult and keep a buffer so that you can complete some pending tasks.
2.Focus on your strengths and sailing through the weaknesses is the best exam strategy you can bet on
3.Having too many books would lead to confusion during the time of revision and most of your doubts would remain unresolved without a good book.
4.Examiners try to trap students by playing around with the question and options. So read the question carefully to understand what is required and see the options with great concentration in case of MCQ based questions.
5.Planning the way you attempt various questions is quite crucial to crack the CS exam. You do not have to approach the question paper the way it is intended to be.

The main topics that you need to focus on are verbal, quant, logical and general knowledge.
Quant also includes DI.
There's a book by Arihant but it's best if you get material from somewhere.
Ideally, you should join Pratham as it's the best institute when it comes to entrance preparation. (Bias towards Pratham as I was a a student there).
Make sure that you are up to date with class 12th maths as that's likely to be asked and it's a section of which most students are scared.
Gk is pretty basic but log on to clatgyaan and check out their yearly compendium.
Verbal is simple, logical reasoning needs a little practice though.
Finally, check out last year's papers on the website to get a fair idea of what your weak areas are and work on them.
