Yes, Westcliff Uni is a legit fine option for Indian students interested in a Day 1 CPT MBA. Its value lies in its flexible, affordable work authorization rather than academic prestige.

Pros of Westcliff's MBA

  • Allows working off-campus from day 1 of studies
  • Authorizes and renews CPT each semester
  • Limited on-site attendance required
  • STEM-designated MBA concentrations (like IT Management) to make you eligible for the 36-month OPT extension

Cons of Westcliff Uni MBA:

As an Indian student, you should to apply for the Fall intake at Boston University to have the best chances of CPT/OPT planning

The Boston University Fall intake (August/September) aligns perfectly with the traditional US calendar and the corporate hiring cycles

BU's official website reads that a Fall start gives you full nine months of study before the Summer internships begin. It allows Indian students to build foundation and also network and attend career fairs.

OPT allows you to gain work experience after your studies. It is usually awarded for 12 months with a possible extension upto 24 months for STEM graduates.

The CPT is a work authorization, granted to students, during the course of their studies. The CPT can be both part time and full time, with average duration being around 20 work hours per week

CPT as it suggests Curricular Practical Training is a training that applicants can take up while they are enrolled in a full-time course with an F1 visa. It can be either a part-time on or off campus job, research opportunities, etc. On the other hand, OPT is Optional Practical Training can be either taken up during or after graduation. Those studying STEM courses, can also go ahead with STEM OPT Extension.
