IITs offer multiple short term courses and advertise their eligibilty criteria. Courses are open for all those candidates who meet eligiblity criteria defined by IITs. They need not be IIT students.

The best thing you can do is to learn computer courses. Since you want to learn computer science engineering, you need to learn that.
Computer science is a course in which there is a huge competition. So you need to be highly skilled to be better.

There are many courses. You can go for PLC SCADA, Mechatronics and embedded systems. You can also go for computer languages if you want for additional knowledge.
Good luck.

Hi Megha,
This will depend on the 'job' you want to do whether you want to do computer related work or serve tables at food joints. So, my advice would be to know figure out your exact career plans. Secondly, be aware of the employment trends in US, you would be requiring an employer to sponsor your H1B visa, its not easy with a short term course.
