The basic eligibility criteria required for admissions to the BBA course at SMIT, Sikkim Manipal University, is that candidates must complete their Class 12 in any stream with at least an aggregate of 50% marks. If candidates have secured 60% in their Class 12, they are eligible to enroll in the course, and there is a chance that they will get admission.

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology offers a BCA course for a duration of over three years and integrated courses for a duration of over four to five years. Further divided into six, eight, and ten semesters. The eligibility criteria to get admissions into any of these courses are candidates must complete their Class 12 from any stream with at least an aggregate of 50%.

To get a PG scholarship at SMIT, Manipal University, MSc students are required to achieve good grades in their BSc degree in Physics/ Mathematics/ Chemistry. The eligibility criteria for admissions to BSc courses offered at SMIT, Manipal University is different according to specialisation, likewise, for admissions to BSc in Physical Education & Sports, candidates must qualify Class 12 from any stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate from respective boards of education. In addition, the university offers several BSc courses in different streams, such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physical Education & Sports, Economics, etc. For the selection process, the institute releases the merit list according to the scores candidates have secured in their higher senior secondary.
