The statement of Purpose for Biotechnology must be a crisp document of around 800-1000 words. You must carefully plan the information so that you can include your motivation for the program, related academic and professional experiences, career objectives and reason for choosing the university, well with in this limit. Few universities may provide specific word or character limit. In such cases, you must follow the prescribed word limit by the university.

Introduction: For the introduction, you must adopt the anecdotal approach. You must start by writing about an anecdote that helped you realise your professional interest in Biotechnology. The introduction should not consist of any generic information; rather, it is advisable to talk about a specific instance/event that motivated you to pursue this course. Make sure this instance is from your recent past (as the university would like to know about your recent accomplishments). For example: you may talk of a recent research paper that you read, a project that you undertook, or an event that you attended.

Undergraduate SOPs need not mention about your scores in examinations, as your academic transcripts will also be added in your UG application documents. However, if you have achieved very good scores or want the Ad Com to know about your academic growth or expertise on a particular subject, you may add the scores. Certain universities may also want to mention your scores to gauge your language proficiency, which you can include in the SOP.

No, it is not a good idea to use same generic SOP for all the universities you are applying to. It is important to customize the SOP as per the university. You must check any specific SOP guidelines provided by the university. These guidelines may include particular question, instructions or even SOP word limit. Incase, no guidelines are provided by the university, you must prepare the SOP as per the university course and requirements. An SOP, which includes
specific details about the university resources, facilities, and impressive features, and how they align with your goals, is certainly more impressive than a generic SOP. You

Low SAT or ACT scores (if compulsorily required by a university) might not get compensated by a statement of purpose. However, if you write a compelling SOP of undergraduate courses, your drive, motivation, and accomplishments will be highlighted and you will greatly improve your chances of getting selected in your desired UG score. Extracurricular activities and admissions essays will help you offset a low SAT/ACT score. You must concentrate on developing a complete application that adheres to the precise requirements and instructions given by the university.
