The Indian Railways have a quota for 30 sports. The Railway Sports Promotion Board oversees the hiring procedure for this quota. Talent scouting accounts for 60% of the overall quota recruitment process. Open advertising accounts for the remaining 40% of quota vacancies. You must meet the following minimal requirements for talent scouting:
1. You must have passed at least the 10th grade.
2. You must be between the ages of 18 and 24.
3. You should be an active player.
4. You must have won either a gold, silver, or bronze medal in the national tournament.
5. Medals from the All-India Inter-University Tournament are also recognised under this quota.
6. However, your sports achievements must have been in the immediate past two years.
7. You need to apply on the Indian Railways' official website when the vacancy notification is published.
8. The open advertisement quota is handled by the relevant zones, and the requirements are similar.
9. The passing score for sports trials is 60 marks. Following is the mark breakdown of the 100 total marks: (a) Skill, fitness, and the coach's observation during trials account for 40 marks. (b) 50 marks are allotted to recognised sports achievements. (c) Five marks are for your educational qualifications, and five marks are for your general intelligence.

The Sports Management Admission Test SMAT is conducted by the International Institute of Sports Management (IISM). This exam is conducted to screen candidates for admission to the IISM institute. You can get admission to sport management-related undergraduate and postgraduate courses at IISM after qualifying for SMAT. The exam is conducted in online mode and is 80 minutes long. To apply for undergraduate courses, you need a minimum of 50 percent in the 12th grade, and for postgraduate courses, you need the same score in your graduation degree.
