LNM Institute of Information Technology was founded in 2002 as a joint venture of the Government of Rajasthan and Lakshmi and Usha Mittal Foundation. The institure got the recognition of Deemed to be University status in 2006. According to the India Today ranking 2024, the institute is ranked among the 50 Engineering colleges. It is a grade 'A' accredited institute (Given by NAAC).
The institute offers seven engineering courses (BTech, BTech (Hons), BTech-MTech Integrated, MTech, MS by Research, MSc and PhD) across six departments and 26 specialisations, namely - Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical-Mechatronics Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and Humanities and Social Sciences. LNM Institute of Information Technology MSc seats are offered to students via different admission modes. Candidates who have a valid score in the CUET PG or JAM exam are offered seats based on their scores.
For those who have not appeared in either of the exams, the institute organises an interview process. In this process, the candidates are evaluated based on their knowledge of the domain, interpersonal skills, etc.

Merit Scholarships: For select top rankers/meritorious students based on the following academic criteria.
First Semester:
- Top 20 rankers (up to top 5000 rank, in general category) of JEE Advanced exam. The scholarship amount is up to INR 35000 per semester.
- Up to the next 20 rankers (if up to the top 7500 ranks, in general category) of JEE Advanced exam. The scholarship amount is INR 30000 per semester.
- Up to the next 20 rankers (if up to the top 12000 ranks, in general category) of JEE Advanced exam. The scholarship amount is INR 25000 per semester.
Second Semester onwards: Academic performance at LNMIIT (CGPA of 9.25 or above).

- Central Library: The library of the Institute is fully automated and equipped with an anti-theft security system. It has 19000+ text and reference books, 190+ e-books, a subscription to 65 National and International periodicals, and about 48,160+ e-journals.
- Hostel: The Institute has four Boys and one Girls Hostel to accommodate the students inside the campus. Hostel rooms are furnished which are quite spacious and comfortable. No it is not possible to get BTech CSE in LNMIIT with 94.45 percentile in JEE Main because they require much higher percentile and lower ranksย
And if you have any reservation quota then you may get admission in that but not in CSE.ย
