The Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS) is considered one of the top universities in Ernakulam. It is also considered one of the best Sanskrit universities in India.
The university was established in 1993 in Kalady, Kerala. It offers courses in Sanskrit, other Indian and foreign languages, fine arts, and social sciences.
The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with the highest grade "A" by NAAC. In 2021, it became the first university in Kerala and the first Sanskrit university in the country to receive an A+ grade from NAAC.

The Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS) requires a minimum of 40% marks in the PG entrance exam for admission.
For the Ph.D. program, candidates must score 50% or more in the entrance exam. Candidates from the SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy Layer)/ differently-abled category receive a 5% relaxation.
