Sree Sankaracharya offers two types of scholarships.

Encouraging Sanskrit Studies under UG Programme:

• This scholarship is for undergraduate Sanskrit students only
• It is given to the first year to final year BA Sanskrit students
• The rate of scholarship shall be Rs 500 per month w.e.f. 2018 admission
• The scholarship duration is for 3 years
• Scholarship shall be payable for 10 months in a year excluding semester break
• The scholarship shall be disbursed on a monthly basis
• Students obtaining a minimum of 75 per cent or above attendance in a month are eligible for the scholarship
• If the student discontinues the BA programme after receiving the scholarship, he/she should refund the amount received from the University before obtaining transfer certificate and other certificates

University Merit Scholarship to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students:

• The number of Merit Scholarship awarded in respect of each courses will be limited to:
  • 25 per cent of the admitted strength (in each centre) in the case of post graduate courses in non -Sanskrit subjects and all under graduate courses offered by the University
  • 50 per cent of the admitted strength (in each centre) in the case of post graduate courses in Sanskrit subjects
• The value of Merit Scholarship for each course shall be BA (all combination): Rs 300, BFA: Rs 300, MA (all subjects): Rs 500 and MSW: Rs 500
• Merit Scholarship shall be payable for not more than 10 months in a year excluding the period of semester break, subject to clause (ix) hereunder, if the students secure 80 per cent or above attendance irrespective of the number of working days in a month. If a student fails to attain 80 per cent of attendance in a particular month, then that student will not be eligible for the scholarship for that particular month
