SRM Valliammai Engineering College is merit based first you have to score 70 percent in class 12, then you have to score good marks in entrance exams depending upon the difficulty level of entrance exam and how students perform in the entrance exam and total number of seats on which admission is taken, then cut off is decided generally the cut off is higher for first round of counselling but if seats get vacant or student left seat after admission then cut off will be reduced for second or third round of counselling.

Different courses have different eligibility criteria at SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Chennai. For B.Tech and BE, candidates are required to have the basic eligibility required is to have at least 45% marks or above in class 12th from a recognised board/ university. For admissions to MA, M.Tech. and MBA courses, candidates need to have a graduate degree from a recognised university with at least 50% marks or above. 60% in class 12th is quite a good mark for admissions at SRM, but besides this, marks of TANCET or TNEA is also considered for admissions depending on your choice of course.

Admissions to SRM Valliammai Engineering College are done through TNEA Counselling for BE and B.Tech courses and TANCET counselling for MBA, M.Tech and ME courses. Candidates are required to register themselves on the official website of the college. Following this, candidates will be required to fill an online application form.
