Yes, St. Clair College, Canada permits international students to work while studying. Overseas students must be mindful of the fact that they can work no more than 20 hours per week while classes are in session and it is essential that this employment does not interfere with a their academic program. During vacations, they can work for unlimited hours.

St. Clair College admission process starts with submission of application through the college portal and also includes submission of transcripts to the college. International students are also required to fulfil English language proficiency requirement through IELTS. Alternative exams include TOEFL and Duolingo. Non-Canadian students must obtain a study permit/VISA to study in Canada.

The admission requirements at St. Clair College differs for certificate programs, Bachelors and Graduate certificates. However, general requirements are listed below:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with a score of 50% or better, or equivalent for UG certificate/diploma

The Canadian Academic English Language Computer Edition (CAEL CE) is the scholarship that is offered to international students. Each year, two international students will be awarded scholarships worth CAD 4,000 each and two runner-ups will win scholarships worth CAD 500 each. The college charges an application fee of CAD 125 or INR 8K  at the time of filling the application. This fee is standard across all programs.

All payments are accepted through the International Payment Portal using a valid credit card, wire transfer or e-wallet. The portal saves you from the bank fees and exchange rate. You can even track your entire payment progress online.

As the applications are accepted through the Ontario Colleges portal, you may hear from St. Clair College the earliest by early February. The college may keep accepting students depending on the number of applications and seats available per program. If accepted, you must respond to your offer letter the latest by early May. In case you miss the deadline, your application may still be considered if your programme of choice has open spots. However, that is up to chance and does not guarantee admission.
