The university does not provide housing/accommodation options to its students. However, the Student Union (Gottingen Studentenwerk) offers more than 4,500 residential units to students. Students are advised to book a room as early as possible.

The rooms usually cost between EUR 200 and EUR 300 per month (INR 18K-28K). The cost of private housing is higher, i.e., between EUR 300 and EUR 450 (INR 28k-42k). The university does not provide any scholarships to international students, except Deutschlandstipendium, as students do not need to pay tuition fees. However, students can apply for other external scholarships either from their home country or Germany. The university offers partial scholarships such as Deutschlandstipendium and Niedersachsenstipendium. All students except doctoral students can apply for these scholarships. The scholarships are awarded based either on academic excellence or the financial need of students.

There is no application fee for international students. However, undergraduate students are required to pay EUR 65 (INR 6k) as an evaluation fee before the application deadline. The evaluation fee is not required if you are applying for a master's or doctoral programme at the university. (EURO 1=INR 93.97)

The University of Gottingen does not charge tuition fees to international students. Students can choose to apply to any programme at the university free of cost. However, students are required to pay administrative charges of EUR 300 per semester (INR 28k). (Euro 1=INR 28K)
